Lowe's Is Taking the Giant Skeleton Trend To New Heights
Looking to up your Halloween game? Lowes has a new giant skeleton for sale this year and it's bigger than the Home Depot one.

Putting up Halloween decorations is one of the best parts of fall. If you live in a neighborhood that goes all out for the holiday, you might find yourself hard-pressed to find a way to stand out. The Home Depot's giant skeleton skyrocketed in popularity a few years ago, and has become a staple of the holiday ever since. But if you find that 12 feet of bones just isn't quite enough, fear not. This year, Lowe's has a new decoration: a 15-foot-tall skeleton. It's got three extra feet of height and a whole bag of tricks that make it an excellent addition to any Halloween line-up.
How Does This Giant Skeleton Stack Up?
Per USA Today, the Lowe's skeleton is "the tallest animatronic on the market." Unlike some of the other skeleton decorations available, this one lights up and moves. It's also technically headless. Lowe's describes it as "hold his severed skull high, scanning the scene with LED eyes blazing like a watchtower beacon sweeping across your haunt!"
The video on the product page illustrates just how creepy this decor piece is. Its deep voice tells passers-by things like "Be very careful. You're being watched..." and "Try to run. It makes it all that much more fun to find you." The eerie chuckle that punctuates these statements is the proverbial cherry on top. It's a Halloween aficionado's dream come true.
What All Does This Animatronic Do?
In addition to the Headless Horseman act, the giant skeleton is capable of "turning eerily from side to side... command attention with chilling phrases, spooky sounds, and sweeping LED eyes that keep your haunt under constant surveillance!" You can activate the animatronic's actions through sound, motion, or a button, so it'll be ready to scare visitors no matter where exactly you set it up. It's also "external speaker capable" according to Lowe's, so you can take your scary soundscapes to the next level if your heart desires.
If your neighborhood goes all out for the fall holidays; you should absolutely consider adding this piece into your lineup. And if you're big on Halloween all year long like I am, you could get creative with adding some seasonal touches to keep your giant skeleton feeling relevant to other holidays. Add a red hat and a faux sack of toys and you've got a Scary Santa that would scare even Scrooge! Plus the longer you have it up, the more bang you're getting for your buck.
