Tapering Jig

Here’s a classic jig for cutting angled parts on your table saw. Build it from two 30-in. long x 2-1/2 in. wide boards connected on one end with a 2-in. butt hinge (Photo 1). Use a friction lid support ($3 at hardware stores) on the other end with a 1/4-in. dia. hanger bolt (60¢) and a Wing-Nut to lock the taper angle (Photo 2). Add a wood handle on the end of the jig so it’s easy to push. Screw on a notched stop block to hold and push the workpiece.
