What is Silk & Snow?
Silk & Snow is a Canadian company, established in 2017, committed to sourcing high-quality, raw materials responsibly. They prioritize sustainable practices, from the European flax linen used in their bedding to the Acacia wood sourced from Vietnam for their furniture. The brand offers a comprehensive selection of home goods, including bedding, mattresses, furniture, and even cozy bathrobes. Their focus is on creating a complete home experience with eco-conscious materials and thoughtful design.
How We Tested Silk & Snow
Our team at Family Handyman thoroughly tested various Silk & Snow products to provide you with an honest and comprehensive review. We evaluated each item based on several key factors: packaging, overall product quality, durability, and value for the price. While Silk & Snow aims to be budget-friendly, we were keen to assess whether this affordability came at the expense of quality. We’re pleased to report that the products consistently exceeded expectations.

Silk & Snow Bedding Reviews
Our Content Director, Nicole Doster, is a long-time fan of Silk & Snow’s linen bedsheets. She’s even ranked them among the best cooling sheets available. The quality of the linen, its breathability and durability have made them a favorite. She was also eager to test their percale bed sheets.
The percale bed sheets are crafted in Portugal using 100% natural cotton and are dyed with natural dyes. They hold the prestigious Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex certification, guaranteeing that no harmful chemicals or synthetic materials were used in their production. A queen set is available for a competitive $125.

Nicole notes that, over time, the percale sheets have softened and faded slightly, which she actually prefers. She found them to be less shiny and smooth than when she first received them. They are durable, comfortable, and a worthwhile investment.
Beyond bed sheets, Silk & Snow offers a wide array of bedding essentials, including comforters, quilts, coverlets, and blankets. Our Deputy Editor, Katie Bandurski, has been enjoying a hand-knitted weighted blanket for several months now, and she couldn’t be happier with it.
Katie, who experiences anxiety, notes that the blanket helps her quiet her mind and focus on the soothing pressure. She selected the 20-pound blanket, which the brand indicates provides a comforting hugging sensation. While the weight might seem significant, Katie emphasizes that the chunky knit design and 100% organic cotton fibers ensure the blanket is breathable.
“It provides cozy, comforting pressure without being too hot or smothering,” she says. However, she was disappointed with the care instructions, which suggest checking whether your washing machine can handle the blanket’s weight. She is likely to spot-treat it and sun dry it when the weather allows. She is not thrilled with the thought of not being able to properly wash it.

Silk & Snow Mattress Reviews
The brand also makes one of our favorite non-toxic mattresses. The Silk & Snow organic mattress combines soft and firm pocket spring coils to offer zoned support and pain relief. It’s constructed with chemical-free and synthetic-free latex, wool, cotton, and double-tempered Canadian steel coils. It’s certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS), OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and Eco-Institut, which means that you can rest assured that no heavy metals, VOCs, pesticides, or other hazardous chemicals were involved in the making of the mattress.
“I’m a troubled sleeper who often suffers from insomnia, frequent wakings with trouble falling back asleep, and tossing and turning,” says our product tester, Sabrina Tillman, in her full Silk & Snow mattress review. Sabrina started experiencing neck and shoulder pain, and new pillows didn’t help. She decided to replace her old mattress and give Silk & Snow a try, and the relief was immediate.
“I noticed a positive difference in my neck and shoulder pain after the first night of sleep. After 30 days, I’m amazingly pain-free in my neck and shoulders when I wake up, despite spending hours a day hunched over a laptop,” she raves. “I also feel generally less creaky and achy when I get out of bed. Even with the plush pillow top, the mattress is relatively firm and holds its shape versus cocooning you.”
Even though it does not advertise any cooling features, the mattress regulated Sabrina’s body temperature effectively, even during summer. “I wasn’t sure how well the organic cotton and wool would regulate my body temperature,” she admits. “But I was pleasantly surprised to note that I didn’t feel too warm while sleeping and didn’t wake up sweaty once.”

Protecting your new mattress with a mattress topper is a smart choice. Expert product reviewer Pamela Bondurant tested the Silk & Snow organic mattress topper, and found it perfect for hot sleepers. It’s made of breathable, GOLS-certified organic latex, and comes in two firmness options. It also has a removable cover that is machine washable.
“It was very comfortable and did not make my bed hot,” she says. “I like a firm mattress and was concerned that it would make my mattress feel too soft and squishy, but it didn’t do that,” says Pamela.

Silk & Snow Furniture Reviews
Silk & Snow also offers some amazing furniture options. Shopping editor Mary Henn raves about the Silk & Snow sectional, claiming it’s a great “cloud-couch dupe on a budget.”
Mary was drawn to the sofa because of its modern design, modular layout, and stain-resistant fabric, which is essential for families with kids. She ordered a six-seater L-shaped configuration for her basement. “I was nervous about going with cream, but Silk & Snow’s stain-resistant fabric holds up. So far, all spills have been wiped clean,” she says. “We had one juice incident, but it was no match for the Shark StainStriker.”
After months of consistent use, Mary’s Silk & Snow couch offers firm, supportive seating that doesn’t sag. The seat depth is a bit shallow for her liking, but the overall fit is excellent for her space.

Shopping editor Emily Way found that her Silk & Snow bed frame with storage was the perfect addition to her bedroom. While some customer reviews claim it’s not sturdy, Emily found that the build quality is excellent when assembled carefully, taking the time to fully tighten all connections.
Emily loves the bed frame’s modern aesthetic. She also appreciates that the underside of the bed is completely closed off, preventing her cats from getting underneath it. The large storage drawer is especially useful.
