How We Tested the Solo Stove Adirondack Chair
The 1903 Adirondack chair arrived in a surprisingly compact package, making it easy to handle. Some assembly is required, but the main components (seat and back) come preassembled, simplifying the process. All necessary tools and parts are included, so you won’t need any additional equipment.
Assembly took a bit longer than expected due to the screws on the bottom of the chair, which were somewhat difficult to tighten. Attaching the arms and front legs to the base involved screwing six small screws into the internal panels on the underside of the chair.
Additionally, eight screws are required to secure the seat to the back of the chair. The included L-wrench made tightening the screws a bit challenging, as it was difficult to maneuver without bumping into other parts of the chair. This process was a bit tedious.
While the hidden screws enhance the chair’s aesthetics, the assembly process could be improved. The underside of the chair did get a few scratches from the wrench, but they were concealed.
Once assembled, the chair felt incredibly sturdy. The overall design of the Solo Stove chair exceeded expectations. It’s one of the most attractive Adirondack chairs we’ve seen. The seamless two-panel back flows smoothly into the armrests and seat. It looks great in various settings, including lawns, patios near a fire pit, and poolside areas.
The chair was exposed to rain on its first night, which was initially disappointing. However, the Solo Stove chair is completely waterproof. Wiping it down the next morning restored it to its original condition. This also highlighted how easy it will be to clean with water and a cloth, which is a significant advantage.
