The Vipp Farmhouse is a sensitively renovated 18th‑century gardener’s residence set within a wooded estate on Lolland, a Danish island approximately two hours by car from Copenhagen. Retaining a traditional exterior—whitewashed walls and a classic thatched roof—the house has been reimagined internally to provide contemporary, carefully considered accommodation for up to six guests across 88 m².
Inside, the layout comprises three double bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor and opens directly onto a private garden terrace. The house also includes a bathroom and a generous open-plan kitchen and living area. The arrangement balances historic character with modern living, offering a calm retreat for families or small groups seeking privacy and connection with the surrounding landscape.
The interior follows a modern Scandinavian minimal aesthetic, prioritising light, texture and functional design. Conceived by interior designer Julie Cloos Mølsgaard, the scheme uses soft textiles, curated artworks and a restrained palette that complements the building’s rustic shell. Key elements—furniture, lighting and accessories—are supplied by Vipp, and both the kitchen and bathroom use Vipp’s modular systems to create robust, streamlined spaces that feel both domestic and distinctly designed.
Guests can source fresh, seasonal ingredients from the neighbouring estate, which supplies produce to local restaurants and the estate’s own dining venue. This close connection to regional suppliers supports a mindful, local approach to dining while making it easy for visitors to prepare meals in the well-equipped Vipp kitchen.
Commissioned by Vipp in collaboration with estate owner Ulrik Th. Jørgensen, the Farmhouse represents the fourth addition to the Vipp hotel collection. Each Vipp property is intended as a distinct expression of the brand’s design philosophy—showcasing its products and approach to living in unexpected or singular locations. The Farmhouse extends that concept into a rural Danish setting, where heritage architecture and modern design meet.
