Our Place Perfect Pot Review: Does It Live Up to the Hype?

Like many home cooks, I’d long admired Our Place’s Instagram-friendly cookware. The Always Pan caught my eye first—sleek lines, multifunctional design and colourways that feel at home on any countertop. After using my Always Pan daily for a couple of years for everything from scrambled eggs to quick stir-fries, I decided to add the Our Place Perfect Pot to my kitchen and test how well it lives up to the brand’s promise of an 8-in-1, space-saving, multifunctional pot.

I’ve used the Perfect Pot for several weeks across a variety of recipes, and below I share a practical review of its design, performance, and whether it’s a worthwhile investment for your kitchen.

First Impressions

Out of the box, the Perfect Pot feels thoughtfully made. The matte finish, soft curves and colour choices give it a premium, modern appearance. I chose the Spice shade, which complements my kitchen palette, but the other tones are equally appealing if you want your cookware to double as decor. Like the Always Pan, the Perfect Pot looks good on display, and that aesthetic appeal is a big selling point if you like an orderly, curated kitchen.

Beyond looks, the build quality impressed me: comfortable ergonomic handles, a well-balanced weight, and a lid engineered to reduce spills. Small, practical details—like a spoon rest integrated into the handle—make daily cooking easier and help keep counters cleaner.

Versatility in the Kitchen

The Perfect Pot is marketed as a versatile pot for boiling, braising, roasting, frying, baking and more. In practice it handles many of those tasks well. I used it to make large batches of soup, one-pot pasta, stews and shallow-roasted vegetables. The pot’s capacity is slightly larger than I expected, which is great for batch cooking, meal prep, or feeding a small family.

Its design supports stovetop-to-table use: the shape, neutral tones and clean lines mean you won’t feel the need to transfer food to another serving dish. For kitchens with limited storage, the Perfect Pot can replace several single-purpose pans and medium Dutch ovens, freeing up cabinet space.

Cooking Performance and Heat Distribution

In actual cooking tests the Perfect Pot performed consistently. Heat distribution is even across the base, which helps when you need a steady simmer or gentle braise. The ceramic nonstick coating makes cooking low- and medium-heat sauces effortless and reduces the risk of sticking. Foods release easily, and cleanup is generally quick—even with stickier sauces or gently browned bits.

It’s noticeably lighter than a cast-iron Dutch oven, which is an advantage when lifting full pots or washing up. That lighter construction means it won’t retain heat exactly like heavy cast iron, but for everyday stovetop use and moderate oven baking the trade-off is acceptable.

The Lid Design

The lid is a standout feature. Its self-basting ridges collect and redistribute condensation to the pot’s contents, helping stews and braises retain moisture without constant attention. That feature is especially useful for slow-cooked recipes and one-pot meals where you want even moisture distribution without lifting the lid repeatedly.

A built-in strainer in the lid adds practical convenience: when making pasta or blanching vegetables, you can easily drain water by tilting the pot and using the lid as a strainer. It’s a small addition, but it speeds up cleanup and reduces the number of utensils used during cooking.

Pros and Cons

Pros: attractive, modern design that suits stovetop-to-table presentation; versatile capacity for batch cooking; even heat distribution for many recipes; ceramic nonstick makes cooking and cleaning easier; lightweight and easy to handle; useful lid features including self-basting ridges and integrated strainer.

Cons: because it’s lighter than cast iron, it won’t provide the same long-term heat retention for prolonged oven roasting; I’d be cautious using it under very high direct oven temperatures or broiling for extended periods. Price is another consideration—this is a premium kitchen item, so it’s an investment rather than a budget buy.

Is the Perfect Pot Worth It?

Overall, yes. If you appreciate cookware that combines attractive design with everyday functionality, the Perfect Pot delivers. It performs well across a wide range of tasks, simplifies many common cooking steps, and replaces several single-purpose pieces in a small kitchen. For fans of the Always Pan, the Perfect Pot complements that model nicely and expands the practical, stylish options for one-pot cooking.

If you often cook for a few people, want to streamline storage, or prefer cookware that looks good left out on the counter, the Perfect Pot is a strong option. Just consider how you use your oven and whether you need the extreme heat retention of heavier cast-iron pieces before deciding.
